Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City | Premier League

05/02/2023 16:30

Prediction: 1-2

Spurs, who will not have Conte on the bench due to a health problem and will be replaced by Stellini, are fifth in the standings, three behind Manchester United and Newcastle; therefore, they must recover if they want to enter the Champions League zone, but they must also watch their backs from Brighton back to minus five. The challenge for Guardiola is fundamental: Arsenal flies, they have a five-point lead and a game to recover; the citizens are the only ones who can try to keep the title race alive, but they can’t make any more mistakes from now on; otherwise, the already difficult comeback will become impossible. Points are therefore very heavily loaded in the White Hart Lane race.

City and Tottenham arrive at the game buoyed by recent victories but far from perfect in recent times. Spurs beat Preston 3-0 in the FA Cup after defeating Fulham 1-0 in the league, but first-round knockouts against Manchester City and Arsenal complicated their way to fourth place. Guardiola is also facing ups and downs; his City won against Arsenal (FA Cup), Wolves, and Tottenham, erasing the heavy defeat in the derby with United (2-1) and the previous defeat in the Carabao Cup with Southampton.

  • Tottenham have lost four of their last five Premier League home games.
  • Manchester City have won three away games in their last four league games.
  • The match was played about ten days ago, and Manchester City won 4-2 by scoring four comeback goals in the second half alone.
  • Citizens come to the match after three consecutive victories.
  • There have been three defeats for Tottenham in the last five league days.

Barcelona vs Sevilla | La Liga

05/02/2023 20:00

Prediction: 3-1

Barcelona is in extraordinary form, having won their last nine games, and they also won their first trophy of the season, the Super Cup, in the final against Real Madrid in 2023. In La Liga, in the two meetings, he won 2-1 with Betis and 1-0 with Girona. Sevilla are trying to get back up after winning the last two league games with Elche 3-0 and Cadiz 1-0, but in between they suffered yet another disappointment of the season by going out of the picture in the Copa del Rey with Osasuna.

Barcelona has conceded only 7 goals in La Liga, the best defense of the tournament.

Fourteen of Barcelona’s 19 matches ended without goals.

Barcelona has won all nine of its games and has the most victories at home (7 out of 9).

Sevilla have never won in their last four away league games.

Inter Milan vs AC Milan | Serie A

05/02/2023 19:45

Prediction: 1-0

At the Emirates Stadium in London, Premier League leaders Arsenal take on Manchester United in the Matchday 21 fixture, which kicks off on Sunday, December 22, 2023. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal lead the tournament with 47 points, but The Red Devils, who are 8 lengths behind in third place, have played one game less. The Gunners are returning from their convincing 0-2 victory in the derby at Tottenham, in which, after an own goal by the goalkeeper, the goal of the Norwegian Martin Ødegaard arrived. The Red Devils, on the other hand, were stopped during the week by Crystal Palace in the seventh round of recovery. At Selhurst Park, the Portuguese Bruno Fernandes scored for Erik Ten Hag’s men.

We are facing two very healthy teams, respectively unbeaten in 6 and 10 games in all competitions. Looking only at the championship, however, Arsenal are unbeaten in 12 games with 10 wins and 2 draws, while at the Emirates they have been “total” unbeaten since the beginning of the season with 7 wins and 1 draw. Manchester United’s record in the Premier League is 6 wins and 1 draw in the last 7 games, while away there have been 2 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat in the last 5 meetings.

  • Arsenal are unbeaten in 12 games in a row in the Premier League, with 10 wins and 2 draws.
  • Arsenal are unbeaten in 6 games in a row in all competitions, with 5 wins and 1 draw.
  • Since the season started again after the World Cup, Manchester United hasn’t lost a game. They have 7 wins and 1 tie.
  • Manchester United has won nine and drawn one of its last ten games in all competitions.
  • In the last 3 matches, in which the home team has always won (2 times against Manchester United and once against Arsenal), both teams have scored.

A Brief History of Rugby

Football

A Brief History of Rugby

Usually, when naming a new sport, one characteristic aspect is chosen that defines it from the others. However, there is a case in which the name of a town in Warwickshire has become that of a much loved and practiced discipline: rugby.

  • The spread of rugby in Great Britain
  • The arrival of professionalism in rugby
  • Rugby 15 and Rugby 13
  • The Rugby World Cup
  • The 1995 edition in South Africa
  • Rugby league

Although there were numerous similar sports, starting with Florentine football, Rugby School formalized it in 1845, hence its name. The oval ball game gained popularity in England in the middle of the nineteenth century, and when the Football Association was created in 1863, it allowed and even encouraged players to use their feet.

Like football before 1871, every school and club had its own rugby rules. Hacking—tripping or kicking the opponent’s legs—was the most controversial.

If the impossibility of tripping people in possession of the ball is one of the causes of the break with football in the UK, a real movement of opinion begins against the brutality of the practice, tolerated during the action, and against those who were offside. Since the Rugby Football Union was founded, hacking has been removed from the rulebook.

The spread of rugby in Great Britain

The first international match is therefore held with the rules just established, which, needless to say, pits two English and two Scottish teams (each with twenty players) against each other. On the other hand, in the homeland of rugby, this novelty is not liked, and in fact, the Rugby School will only become part of the federation in 1890.

By that time, rugby had already spread not only throughout the United Kingdom but also in the various British dominions outside the Isles, even in the most remote corners of the Empire. Not for nothing, the annual match between England and Scotland is giving away the Calcutta Cup, a trophy made with 270 melted silver rupees and donated to the Rugby Union by the club of the Indian town, which dissolved in 1878 but in doing so keeps alive its history nearly 150 years later.

The arrival of professionalism in rugby

In South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, the oval ball gains popularity despite the Australians producing their own version, Australian Football, which is still popular today. Eight years before Rugby School joined the “Home Championship” (England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland), which became the “Five Nations tournament” in 1910 with the addition of France, international matches were already being played.

However, a split creates two rugby styles. Professionalism is usually the reason.

The Rugby Union prohibits championships and player compensation. In football in the north of England, a controversy occurs. The firms opted to pay the gamers, who were mostly workers, for “broken time,” i.e., the time the games took away from work, lowering their salaries.

22 northern English clubs fought over this payment in 1895. The Northern Union became the Rugby League in 1922.

Rugby 15 and Rugby 13

Even though the number of players on the field is not the only difference between rugby 15 and rugby 13, the split has had lasting effects.

Rugby Union began live betting in 1995, a century after Rugby League.

Rugby was at the Olympics from 1900 through 1924, which helped establish its global reach before the First World War.

The Rugby World Cup

However, this is clear from the growing popularity of the southern hemisphere’s national teams, especially New Zealand’s, which started wearing an all-black uniform at the start of the 20th century, giving rise to the legend of the “All Blacks.”

Indeed, after the Great War, the New Zealanders embark on a European tour from which they emerge undefeated, signaling that the balance of power does not concern only the Home Nations. Yet it takes several years before the decision is made to play a real rugby World Cup. We have to wait until 1987 for the first edition, which takes place in New Zealand and sees the victory of the home team.

The 1995 edition in South Africa

The 1995 edition, held in South Africa, however, represents the real breaking point with the past. The Springboks had been barred from competing in the previous two cups due to the apartheid regime, and they won the trophy in their first appearance, much to Nelson Mandela’s delight.

The impactful images of the World Cup and the long-awaited turn toward professionalism changed everything for rugby. The Tri Nations competition, which pits New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa against each other, was established in 1996 as the southern hemisphere’s answer to the Five Nations.

A few years later, it will become the Six Nations, thanks to the inclusion of Italy, which in the 1990s began to produce players of international level and was admitted to play in the famous tournament in 2000. The Tri Nations also welcomed a new host national team, Argentina, and changed its name to the Rugby Championship in 2012.

Rugby league

However, the arrival of professionalism also has several repercussions at club level. The dominance that rugby at 13 had for a century, the only one in which players were allowed to pay, has gradually waned, even though rugby “league” is still very popular in England and Australia, as are rugby bets.

On the other hand, many tournaments were born at a continental level (such as the European Champions Cup in Europe) and worldwide (such as the United Rugby Championship, which sees the participation of franchises from Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Italy, and South Africa), whose protagonists continue to spread the love for rugby in every corner of the planet. After all, on closer inspection, rather than being spherical, it’s still oval!

Table tennis rules

Table tennis rules: Everything you need to know

It doesn’t matter if you call it ping pong; in fact, there are a variety of names that are used to refer to table tennis (also called “table tennis”). An age-old sport that did not gain widespread popularity until the latter half of the nineteenth century is now one of the sports that can be competed in at the Olympics. Table tennis has proven itself to be one of the most exciting games ever played over the course of its history. This is partially due to the game’s adaptability, as it only requires two players and can be played anywhere, including inside and outdoors.

However, what are the prerequisites for participation? And how do you play table tennis? The sport of table tennis is broken down into its essential components in the following summary.

What you need to play table tennis

As the name of the game indicates, table tennis basically consists of a tennis match played on a table instead of on a court; the dynamics are more or less the same. However, there is something different: the size of the racket is consequently reduced, and the shape and texture also change; moreover, the ball becomes lighter. To play, you need:

  • Two rackets (or four, if playing doubles)
  • A table tennis ball
  • A regular playing field

For the table, there are standard lengths that must be respected, namely:

  • 5cm wide
  • 274cm long
  • 76cm high
  • Net height of 15.25 cm

The net that divides the field in two is made of nylon and protrudes to the side for another 15.25 cm.

Even the ball has specific characteristics:

  • Diameter: 40mm
  • Weight: 2.7 grams
  • Material: PVC or ABS

Even for rackets, there are some indications: the frame (i.e., the flat part, to be clear) must be 85% wood and have a rubber cover on both sides.

Note: In general, given the lightness of the ball, it is always better to play indoors to prevent the wind from affecting the trajectory of rallies too much.

The rules of table tennis

First of all, it must be said that the number of sets to be won varies from competition to competition; in general, they are either best of 5 or best of 7. To win a set, you need to reach 11 points; if you reach 10 points, each player will go on until one of the two players gets two points ahead of the opponent.

In the game, which must comply with specific rules, the ball must first hit one’s court and then end up in the opponent’s court. The player to serve first has two serves, then the two serves in a row pass to the opponent, and so on until the end of the set. If it reaches 10, the series of one serving each begins instead.

After the serve, the opposing player must make the return, throwing the ball back into the court of the one who served. This goes on until one of the two players makes a mistake or commits a foul. It is a foul when:

  • A player talks during a trade.
  • Racket or player makes contact with the net
  • One player moves the table.
  • Or if he touches the table with his free hand.

Table tennis, overall, is a simple and fun sport with precise rules that are also quite easy to remember and put into practice. It helps mental concentration and improves coordination; it’s a highly recommended sport. The best men and women, then, can even aspire to Olympic gold, given that table tennis, as mentioned, has been present at the Olympics since 1988.

Europa League records and statistics

Europa League records and statistics

Born from the ashes of the Fairs Cup back in 1971 and initially called the UEFA Cup, only in 2009 did it take the name it still has today: the Europa League. The second most important European competition, reserved for teams that do not qualify for the most prestigious Champions League, has provided a lot of emotions over the years, as well as obviously interesting records and statistics. On the other hand, from teams that have missed access to the Champions League or have gone out in the same group or from unknown teams from various European countries with nothing to lose, one could not expect otherwise. Here are the most interesting records of the Europa League.

The team with the most wins: Sevilla have five cups.

Thanks above all to recent history, Sevilla are the team to have put the trophy on the palmares more times than anyone else. The Nervionenses quickly became the most titled team, thanks in part to another record, that of consecutive victories, which they won only in the 2005-06 season. With three triumphs in a row between the 2013–14 and 2015–16 seasons, the Spaniards have in fact reached five triumphs.

Most victorious nation: 11 victories for Spain

The most successful nation of all in the history of the Europa League is Spain. Spain owes a lot to Sevilla and its five cups, but Atletico Madrid, with the colchoneros who were able to win three and then, a bit surprisingly, two consecutive successes for Real Madrid in the 1984–85 and 1985–86 seasons, also makes a significant contribution. The second step of the podium is divided between two nations: England and Italy, each with nine successes. The first to get there was Italy, thanks to three victories for Juventus, three for Inter, two for Parma, and one for Napoli. One more team instead for the English, who reach nine thanks to the three triumphs of Liverpool, the two of Chelsea and Tottenham, and the only one each of Manchester United and Ipswich Town. Germany has six victories. Borussia Monchengladbach is the only German team to have two victories, with Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, and Schalke 04 each having one. Among the nations of the top five European leagues, France is bad, still at zero but with five finals lost.

Player with most goals ever: 40 for Henrik Larsson

Swede Henrik Larsson is the player who has scored the most goals in the history of the Europa League. Considering both the preliminary rounds, in which he scored nine goals, and the group and knockout stages, where he instead scored 31, Larsson can in fact boast 40 goals in just 56 appearances, with an average of 0.76 goals per game. Following him with 34 goals, we find Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who, unlike the Swede, is still active and therefore has the possibility of reaching or even exceeding the record. For the Dutch average of 0.66 goals per game.

Player with the most appearances: 96 for Giuseppe Bergomi

The footballer with the most appearances ever in the Europa League is an Italian; he is the former Inter captain and defender of the Italian national team, Giuseppe Bergomi, who, with the Nerazzurri, has totaled 96. Bergomi was also a protagonist in all three of the successes of the Milanese, lifting the last two with the captain’s armband. In second place, we find the German Frank Rost, who instead stopped at 90. Among the players still active, Atiba Hutchinson and Pepe Reina are the closest, with 74 appearances each.

The most successful player and coach in history: José Antonio Reyes and Giovanni Trapattoni/Unai Emery

In a few years, José Antonio Reyes managed to win the record as the player with the most victories in the Europa League, no less than five. After lifting the trophy with Atletico Madrid in 2010 and 2012, the Spaniard, who died in a car accident at the age of 35, lifted it three times in a row with Sevilla in the 2014-2015 season and in 2016. As for the coaches, however, the record holder is an Italian, Giovanni Trapattoni, who shares first place with Unai Emery. The first to reach the quota of three triumphs was Trapattoni, who, after winning in 1977 with Inter, managed to triumph twice with Juventus in 1991 and 1993. Three consecutive victories instead for Emery, author of the historic hat-trick for Sevilla: 2014–2015–2016.

Oldest and youngest goalscorer ever: Gary McAllister and Vagner Love

The oldest player ever to score a goal in a Europa League final was Gary McAllister in the famous final between Liverpool and Alaves of the 2000/01 season, which ended with the Reds winning after extra time. The Scotsman scored the momentary 3-1 goal for him from the penalty spot at the ripe old age of 36 years, four months, and 22 days. More recently, however, the record of youngest scorer in a final has belonged to Vagner Love, who scored the final 1-3 goal in the final between Sporting Lisbon and CSKA Moscow in the 2004/05 season. At the time of the goal, the Brazilian was 20 years, 11 months, and 11 days old.

Bayern Munich vs Cologne | Bundesliga

24/01/2023 19:30

Prediction: 3-1

On Tuesday night, Cologne will play Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga. The away team struggled before the World Cup. After 16 games, they were ninth with 20 points after being winless in five league matches. Cologne returned to league play with a strong 7-1 win over Werder Bremen over the weekend. However, the visitor’s away form this season is unacceptable. Cologne has one win, three draws, and four losses in eight road matches. Cologne lost 4-0 the previous time these teams played, and they may struggle to take anything from this clash.

Bayern Munich is dominating this season. Bayern’s unbeaten streak reached nine games despite a disappointing 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig in their league comeback. Bayern won seven and drew two of those nine. They lead the league with five points above Frankfurt, Union Berlin, and Freiburg, who are tied with 30 points each. The host team has won five of seven matches at the Allianz this year, drawing two. If they win this match, they will extend their Allianz unbeaten streak to 15 matches, dating back to February 2018. Bayern Munich has 15 wins and one tie against Cologne in 16 encounters.

  • Bayern Munich is unbeaten in 15 home games.
  • Bayern Munich is undefeated against Koln in 16 matches.
  • Five of the last six encounters between these teams have had over 3.5 goals.
  • Koln hasn’t beaten Bayern Munich since February 2011.

Lazio vs AC Milan | Serie A

24/01/2023 19:30

Prediction: 0-1

Lazio vs. Milan in the 19th round of Serie A should be exciting and crucial for both teams. Milan, in second place, is four points ahead of fourth-place Lazio. This match is crucial for both teams because Juventus was fined 15 points by the federation and is now out of contention. The first four spots are open. Felipe Anderson scored to help Lazio progress in their Coppa Italia match against Bologna. They kept their clean-sheet streak and advanced to the quarterfinals against Juventus. The Lazziali have won six of their last 10 games at home at the Stadio Olimpico, losing only one. Every game but two has seen them score at least twice. They had only one win in their previous four league games.

Milan has struggled owing to poor play and key player injuries. Inter defeated them 3-0 in the Super Cup. The Rossoneri have lost their last four games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last nine, including friendly matches. They had only one win in seven road games, including draws with bottom-half teams Cremonese and Lecce. Milan conceded four goals in their previous two visits to the Olimpico, so they will need to improve their defense to win. They are still in a good league position and will want to win this match.

  • In their last ten games played at home, Lazio has a record of six victories and just one loss.
  • Over the course of their last 10 matches at home, Lazio has scored at least twice in all but two of those contests.
  • Milan’s last nine matches have not resulted in a team clean sheet for them.
  • The Olimpico has been the site of their three most recent encounters. Over 2.5 goals

Real Madrid vs Atlético Madrid | Copa del Rey

26/01/2023 20:00

Prediction: 1-0

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will face off against each other in a local derby for the right to advance to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey on Thursday. Los Blancos have only competed in two games so far in this competition, winning both of them by scores of 1-0 against Cacereno and 3-2 against Villarreal.

However, in general, they are going through a period of ups and downs; they have been among the losers ever since the return leg in the break, and they have lost three games in La Liga—two to Villarreal and Rayo Vallecano, which cost them first place in the league, and one to Barcelona in the Super Cup.

After being knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Barcelona and drawing with Almeria, Atletico Madrid bounced back in La Liga with a 3-0 victory over Valladolid. In the Copa del Rey, they defeated Almazan, Arenteiro, Oviedo, and Levante. In La Liga, they raised their heads again by beating Valladolid.

  • At the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid have won their last 3 direct matches.
  • In the last 4 matches at the Santiago Bernabeu, one or both teams have failed to score.
  • In 5 of Atletico Madrid’s last 6 official matches, one of the two teams hasn’t scored.

Manchester City vs Arsenal | FA Cup

27/01/2023 20:00

Prediction: 2-1

While awaiting the championship showdown at the Etihad Stadium on February 15, Manchester City and Arsenal are rehearsing for the challenge for the Premier League title, facing each other in a match that is just as important as the FA Cup for “football” fans and has a much higher value than the championship. Therefore, on January 27, 2023, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal (who was Guardiola’s second at City) will face each other in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Both teams won their last games: City 3-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal 3-2 against Manchester United. The two teams have not faced each other since last season, precisely since January 1, 2022, when Manchester City won 1-2 in London.

Manchester City have won their last two games and have now won three straight at home.In the FA Cup, the debut took place on January 8 with a 4-0 home victory against Chelsea. Arsenal have won the last 3 consecutive matches between the league and the FA Cup, while they have won the last 5 away. The Gunners also made an easy FA Cup debut, drawing 0-3 with Oxford United.

  • Manchester City have won their last 5 matches.
  • In the last 13 matches between Manchester City and Arsenal, the Citizens have won 12 and lost only 1.
  • In their last 5 matches at the Etihad Stadium against Arsenal, Manchester City ended the first half ahead and then won the match.
  • Manchester City have kept three consecutive clean sheets against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
  • There have been 6 Over 2.5 in the last 7 meetings between Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium

Liverpool vs Chelsea | Premier League

21/01/2023 12:30

Prediction: 1-0

The two big disappointments of the Premier League face off on Saturday, January 21, at Anfield Road. The Reds, who were beaten to the title by Manchester City last year, are ninth with 28 points today, five points behind fifth place and ten steps away from qualifying for the next Champions League. The same goes for Chelsea, who share their position in the rankings and points with the Reds. The more than 300 million spent on the market have not brought about a breakthrough, and Potter is at risk of exemption in the event of another slip.

The Reds come into the match after back-to-back league defeats, 3-0 by Brighton and 3-1 by Brentford, heavy results that cannot be erased by Wednesday night’s 1-0 success at Wolves in the FA Cup. Chelsea made a similar speech after defeating Crystal Palace in the Premier League’s last round, but they had previously lost three games in a row, including two against Manchester City and one against Fulham.

  • Liverpool have won three of their last four Premier League games at home.
  • At Anfield, the Reds have scored 20 points on the scoresheet this season with 6 wins and only one defeat in the Premier League.
  • Chelsea have lost five of the last six away games they have played.
  • Very difficult period for the blues, who have lost six of their last nine games in all competitions.

Manchester City vs Wolves | Premier League

22/01/2023 14:00

Prediction: 3-0

With a stratospheric second half, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City won the second half of the seventh day of the Premier League by beating Tottenham 4-2 at home. Now the Citizens await Julen Lopetegui’s Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 21st day of the English top division. It will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, December 22, 2023.

Manchester City is five points ahead of Arsenal, who have one game in hand, while Wolves, who won 1-0 against West Ham United in the previous championship but were knocked out 0-1 at home by Liverpool in the FA Cup, are only 14th in a trio of teams on 17 points, 25 fewer than the Citizens.

Since the resumption of competition after the World Cup, Manchester City have totaled 3 wins and 1 draw at home across all tournaments.

  • Manchester City has won the last five meetings with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
  • There have been five goals over 2.5 in the last 6 meetings between Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers have won just 1 of their last 6 games in all competitions.

Arsenal vs Manchester United | Premier League

22/01/2023 16:30

Each World Cup has its own set of stars, some of whom are already well known, while others shine only during the tournament. And during the transfer period right after the World Cup, there are often players who did well on the biggest stage but aren’t on top-level teams yet.

The most striking example is, of course, that of the best young player in Qatar in 2022, the Argentine Enzo Fernandez. The Benfica midfielder has become a key player for Argentina, and despite his limited European experience (he arrived in Portugal in July 2022), he has attracted the interest of several major clubs. Chelsea plans to spend 127 million euros on him, which is the amount of his release clause.

The talents of the World Cup in Qatar

But the world champion is not the only one who showed off in Qatar, and other clubs are also closely following the profiles of those who shone at the World Cup.

One of these players is definitely the Moroccan Azzedine Ounahi, who helped his team reach a semi-final that made African football history.

His valuation is also on the rise, certainly not at the level of Enzo Fernandez, but considering that before the World Cup he was considered a reserve at Angers, the 20 million we are talking about for him is a great amount.

And Randall Kolo-Muani, the one who missed the goal that was worth the World Cup even for live bets, could also leave Frankfurt’s Eintracht. Even Bayern Munich, who are looking for a young center forward, and Manchester United are on his trail.

In short, the post-World Cup transfer session, despite being short, promises to be quite exciting. But how did those of the new millennium go?

The transfer market after the 2002 and 2006 World Cups

Many stories are told, some of top signings, others of incredible flops… It is impossible not to start from 2002, when Brazil won the World Cup.

And the top scorer of the World Cup, Ronaldo the Phenomenon, ends up at Real Madrid, which snatches him from Inter after his brace in the final.

That year, due to the economic problems of some clubs, some great names left. Milan and Inter bring home, respectively, Nesta and Seedorf, Crespo, Cannavaro, and Almeyda, while at the international level, Rio Ferdinand leaves Leeds for Manchester United.

And among the world’s surprises, the Senegalese Diouf goes to Liverpool, but the Reds regret it almost immediately.

The 2006 summer market was more calm, but even in that case, the most expensive player played in the World Cup: Andriy Shevchenko left Milan to fly to Chelsea.

Some world champions also changed teams. Thanks to Juventus’ relegation to Serie B, Gianluca Zambrotta goes to Barcelona, while Fabio Cannavaro at Real Madrid, and Fabio Grosso was transferred to Inter.

On display are Spanish and South Americans.

Another round, another world championship, and in 2010, the Spaniards are (obviously) the most popular.

David Villa leaves Valencia for Barcelona, while Manchester City begins its big expenses and, in addition to David Silva, brings home Yaya Tourè, Mario Balotelli, and Aleksandar Kolarov. One of the stars of the World Cup changing sides is also Asamoah Gyan, who joins Sunderland.

In 2014, the big names in the world are making a lot of noise. The most expensive transfer is Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona, who didn’t do very well with Uruguay, but was followed by the top scorer in Brazil, James Rodriguez, and one of the finalists, Angel Di Maria, who went to Real Madrid and Manchester United, respectively.

CR7 arrived in Italy after Russia 2018

And in 2018? That is Cristiano Ronaldo’s year at Juventus, but it is also the year of world champions Lemar at Atletico Madrid, Kepa at Chelsea, Liverpool, who has Alisson and Keita, and Chelsea, who has Mahrez.

A colorful market, to be sure, but one with little to do with the World Cup.

F1 Schedule 2023: The Official Calendar of Grand Prix Races

There isn’t much time left until the start of the current Formula 1 season. There have been a number of changes within the paddock, the most notable of which was the appointment of Jean-Eric Vasteur as the team principal for Ferrari, and work on the single-seaters has already begun since the end of the previous season. Will Mercedes make a comeback, or will the Red Bull Racing Team triumph to rule the world? There is still plenty to discover about all of this, but one thing is certain: fans are looking forward to the next season very much. Let’s look at when the Formula One 2023 season will get underway, as well as the rest of its schedule. There will be 23 stages, each of which will have a very intriguing new element.

When does the 2023 Formula 1 season start?

It won’t be too much longer, since the first race of the Formula One season, the Bahrain Grand Prix, will take place on March 5, 2023. Charles Leclerc won his first race of the most recent World Championship from the same start as he did the year before (the third of his career). The elimination of the French Grand Prix (which means no spectacular overtaking at Signes in the Paul Ricard) and the addition of a new race in Las Vegas as the World Championship’s final round will be among the changes for the new year.

The two Italian races at Imola and Monza have been confirmed once again, where the Ferrari public will once again be able to show off its colors and warmth. Some other small changes, however, concern the time at which some GPs will be held. Spa-Francorchamps will be there at the end of July, before the summer break. After the break, however, it will start again with Max Verstappen’s Dutch Grand Prix. There will therefore be 23 races in total, since the Chinese GP was canceled due to COVID-19, but it cannot be excluded that a new circuit could be inserted at the last one to bring the total number of Grands Prix for the season to 24.

F1, the 2023 calendar

The full schedule for the 2023 Formula One season, including all of the stages and dates of the different Grands Prix that will be hosted throughout the season, is presented below for your consideration. Be sure to keep an eye on the brand-new Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will serve as the second-to-last stage of the competition before the championship is decided in Abu Dhabi. During the course of the season, there will only be two hat-tricks of non-stop races: one will take place in Imola, Monte Carlo, and Spain, while the other will take place in Austin, Mexico City, and Interlagos. We are in for a thrilling conclusion in 2023.

  • March 5: Bahrain Grand Prix

Predictions 16-19-01.2023

Football

Cameroon vs Congo | African Nations Championship

16/01/2023 19:00

Prediction: 1-0

In a warmup match on Monday, Cameroon easily defeated Sudan by a score of 2-0. Roche Foning’s goal in the 36th minute gave Alioum Saidou’s team the lead, and then Arthur Ebong’s goal 20 minutes later provided some protection for the advantage they had just taken.

Since the opening game of the 2022 World Cup, when they were defeated by Switzerland (1-0), the Indomitable Lions have gone five games without suffering a defeat. The following challenge comes from a side that has a little advantage in this series, having won three of the previous nine matches and losing only two of them.

Cameroon is headed to Algeria with something to prove after earning its best-ever CHAN finish in 2020, ranking fourth. They will be competing against Algeria in the African Nations Championship. Congo was eliminated from the African Nations Championship on Monday after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Lions of Teranga of Senegal in their final exhibition match for the competition.

Because of this, the Red Devils came into this encounter in need of a morale boost because they had lost three of their last six matches. Congo is confident that they can advance even further in this competition after making it to the CHAN quarterfinals for the second season in a row.

Wolves vs Liverpool | FA Cup

17/01/2023 19:45

Prediction: 1-2

Is it a real crisis? Wolverhampton will issue a final ruling. Yes, because Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool now looks like a bad copy of the team that lit up the panorama of international football. The defeat against Brighton also left the German coach speechless, who defined that match as the uglyest ever played by his team.

The Wolves have already put the Reds in difficulty, forcing them into this FA Cup replay, even though the hosts weren’t in great form either. However, in the last season of the championship, Wolverhampton returned to victory and are now looking to extend their streak with another prestigious result.

  • As was said, Liverpool comes into this game carrying the weight of the three goals they gave up to Brighton (3-0).
  • In the first match of the FA Cup, the Wolves stopped the Reds, forcing them to draw at Anfield Road (2-2).
  • However, Klopp’s team had given up three more goals on the Brentford field before that (the final score was 3-1).
  • The Reds, therefore, have collected eight goals in the last three matches played between the league and the FA Cup.
  • However, since the World Cup break, Liverpool has always conceded at least one goal in every game.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United | Premier League

18/01/2023 20:00

Prediction: 1-0

Crystal Palace and Manchester United are scheduled to meet this Wednesday in Selhurst Park in a Premier League seventh-day postponement. The home team, led by Patrick Vieira, comes off two consecutive defeats, the last of which was in the derby with Chelsea, by 1-0, and occupies the 12th position with 22 points, seven more than West Ham, which is the first team below the waterline.

Manchester United, on the other hand, comes off a 2-1 victory in the derby with Manchester City and is in a sequence of seven victories. The Red Devils won all matches after the competition restarted after the break for the World Cup in Qatar. This series of results led Ten Haag’s team to consolidate fourth place and move closer to Newcastle, Manchester City, and Arsenal. United have 38 points, nine less than the Gunners.

  • United are on a seven-game winning streak.
  • Palace comes off two consecutive defeats.
  • The Red Devils team won every game after the competition restarted.
  • Palace have lost four of their last five meetings.
  • United have won their last two away league games.

AC Milan vs Inter Milan | Supercoppa

18.01.2023 20:00

Prediction: 1-1

On Wednesday, January 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the first trophy of the year for Italian football will be awarded: the Italian Super Cup. Reigning Italian champions Milan and Inter, winners of the last Coppa Italia, will play the match. An incandescent derby between two teams that are experiencing different moments: Inzaghi has raised his head after so many criticisms, and Pioli, on the other hand, has to give new life to his Rossoneri, who appeared in a lot of difficulty at the start of 2023. The game is “dry,” and in the event of a draw, it will go to extra time and, if necessary, penalties. Milan have won the trophy seven times, Inter six.

Between the two formations, Inter have responded better to the challenge, which in this 2023 season has never been lost, by winning 1-0 at home with Napoli on their return from the long break for the World Cup and repeating themselves in the last season of the championship with Verona. In between, two lackluster matches for Inzaghi’s boys, who only got through to the Coppa Italia against Parma in extra time and drew 2-2 in Monza. Pioli’s luck ran out after a 2-1 victory over Salernitana, as he drew 2-2 with Roma and drew 2-2 with Lecce in the new year. The Italian Cup elimination against Torino at home was a sore point.

  • Over 2.5 goals have been scored in seven of the last nine derbies.
  • The two teams with the most Over 2.5 goals have been scored in 13 of 18 Serie A games.
  • Four of Milan’s last five matches have finished with at least three goals on the final scoreboard.
  • Inter and Milan, respectively, have the second and third best attacks in the league with 38 and 35 goals in eighteen matches.

Senegal vs Uganda | African Nations Championship

18.01.2023 20:00

Prediction: 1-0

If Uganda can defeat Senegal in the second of their two group B matches at the competition, it will be a significant step toward achieving their goal of advancing to the knockout phase of the African Nations Championship. This will be Uganda’s first time ever advancing to this stage of the competition. Following their opening game, which they won 1-0 against Ivory Coast, Senegal is currently in first place in the standings with three points. The Senegalese junior squad is seeking to follow in the footsteps of their senior team counterparts, who are the current champions of Africa. The victory over Ivory Coast was their third in the past five matches, and in CHAN play, they have three clean sheets in the last four games and in the last five matches, they have only failed to score in two of those games. There were fewer than 2.5 goals scored in four of their most recent five CHAN matches, and they have only scored more than one goal in one of their most recent five CHAN encounters. Senegal has never been defeated by Uganda in any of their four previous encounters.

Uganda, on their side, will be coming into this game on a far more disappointing run, having failed to win any of their previous four matches. This game will be their fifth match in a row without a victory. In their first game in this group, which was contested against Congo DR, they played to a scoreless tie, making it four games in a row in which they have failed to score. They have therefore lost their last four matches in a row, although they have maintained a clean sheet in three of their last five outings. Three of their most recent five matches resulted in fewer than 2.5 goals being scored, while all four of these teams’ previous meetings resulted in fewer than 2.5 goals being scored. However, the fact that they had only one defeat in their previous eight matches will give them confidence going into this contest. However, in four of their last five games played away from home, they have failed to score.

  • Uganda has gone four matches without a victory.
  • Senegal has never lost to Uganda in the four times they have played each other.
  • In three of Uganda’s most recent five matches, fewer than 2.5 goals were scored.
  • Senegal has kept three clean sheets in their previous four matches in this competition.

Manchester City – Tottenham | Premier League

18.01.2023 20:00

Prediction: 2-1

The match of the seventh day of the Premier League, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City hosting Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, is played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. The Citizens are second in the standings, 8 points behind Arsenal, and, after losing 2-0 in the League Cup at Southampton, they lost 2-1 in the league in the Manchester derby at United despite the advantage scored by Jack Grealish half an hour from the end. The Spurs, on the other hand, lost further ground to the leaders, who went on to win 0-2 on their pitch. Tottenham is now 14 points behind Arsenal.

Ups and downs for Manchester City in the league: in the last 5 matches, there have been 2 wins, 1 draw, and 2 defeats, while considering only the matches at the Etihad Stadium, we have 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 knockout. Tottenham have the same balance sheet as the Citizens in the last 5 games of the league, while away they have 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 defeat.

  • There have been 12 over 2.5 in the last 14 games between Manchester City and Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium.
  • Tottenham have conceded at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 9 league games.
  • Manchester City have found the net in both halves in 67% of their home games in the 2022-2023 Premier League.
  • At least 3 goals have been scored in all of Manchester City’s home wins in the Premier League this season.
  • Manchester City have scored the first goal of the match in 5 of their last 6 home games against Tottenham Hotspur.
