A Marathon Steeped in History and Growth

The Liberia Marathon has become a beloved tradition since its 2011 debut. With almost 1,500 runners, the 2022 edition featured unprecedented female participation and stories of athletes overcoming difficulties, including wheelchair and crutch-assisted competitors. This year promises even greater participation and an atmosphere charged with energy.

Event Details: Half Marathon & 10K Race

• Half Marathon Route (21.1 km/13.1 miles)

Runners will set off from the Freeport area, traverse the Western peninsula, and navigate Mamba Point before passing landmarks such as PHP Sports Park and the Executive Mansion. The route extends through Tubman Boulevard’s flatter sections and challenges participants with a steady incline towards JFK, where half marathoners merge with 10k runners. From here, the route winds through SD Cooper Road, pushing everyone towards the jubilant finish line.

• 10K Footrace

The 10K kicks off at JFK Memorial Hospital, known for its scenic path along Tubman Boulevard, offering views of Peace Island. The final stretch heads onto SD Cooper Avenue, culminating in a rewarding finish at SKD entrance after a gentle uphill push.
