Home » Grand Kru County Welcomes New Kickball Coach Jerry Kennedy to Lead 2024/2025 Season
Grand Kru County has captured attention by appointing Jerry Kennedy, former Margibi County kickball coach, as their new head coach. This exciting development has stirred high hopes within the county’s sports community as they prepare for the 2024/2025 National County Sports Meet Kickball edition. Jerry Kennedy brings extensive experience, a winning mentality, and ambitious goals aimed at leading Grand Kru to victory.
At his unveiling ceremony, Coach Kennedy shared his motivation for accepting the challenge with Grand Kru County. After coaching Margibi County for over 11 years, he felt it was time for a fresh start. His passion for the sport, combined with personal reasons—his sister playing a key role in convincing him—led to his decision.
Coach Kennedy’s primary goal is clear: lead the team to victory at the National County Sports Meet. His immediate target is qualification for the quarterfinals, with the ultimate aim of securing the championship. “I’ve come to lift the trophy with Grand Kru County,” Kennedy boldly declared. With a proven track record, including a 2019 championship win with Margibi County, his leadership promises success.
Having led Margibi County to the 2019 Kickball Championship, Kennedy’s reputation as a winner precedes him. His impressive history has fueled excitement about what he will bring to Grand Kru. Confident in his abilities, Kennedy reassured fans that he is ready to continue his winning streak. “I have players who are ready to follow me to Grand Kru County, and we will work together to achieve this dream,” he added.
Alfred Sayon, Chairman of Grand Kru County’s Sports Steering Committee, voiced the county’s enthusiasm and complete support for Coach Kennedy. He stressed that the county is committed to providing the necessary resources, including financial and logistical backing, to help Kennedy achieve his goals. “Coach Kennedy is fully committed to leading our kickball team to victory,” Sayon affirmed, reflecting the county’s confidence in their new leader.
Coach Kennedy’s vision goes beyond just winning games. He wants to underline the requirements and importance of discipline, teamwork, and a strong winning mentality within the players. Depending on his vast experience with great athletes, Kennedy is hopeful the team will do well during the competition. “Several players will join me in realizing this dream and making Grand Kru County proud,” he said confidently.
Grand Kru will enter the competition in Group B, which is grouped alongside tough opponents such as Grand Gedeh, Margibi, and Montserrado Counties. Excitement has built up toward the impending National County Sports Meet this December 2024, as Kennedy has been leading from the front and the county remains irrevocably committed to ensuring success. The event is the most popular sporting event in Liberia, pits teams against each other, and attracts scores of fans from across the nation for a very exciting competition.
